Discovered byHenri Moissan, 1886Henri Moissan: 1 element
Fluorine was so reactive that it injured several chemists who tried to isolate it. Moissan finally succeeded and won the 1906 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
Did you know?
- It is the most reactive element of all.
- It pulls electrons more strongly than any other element.
Where it's found

- Fluoride in toothpaste and some water
What it's used for
- Fluoride toothpaste
- Non-stick pan coatings
- Refrigerants
